    Preparing for impact: More on severe weather warnings in effect at two of the nation's largest ports

    Two of the largest ports in the United States are bracing for significant weather in the coming days, from rain, snow and even tornadoes, that could impact agricultural shipping.

    The US Coast Guard is warning The ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are preparing for strong surf, high winds and heavy rain to hit the area. Currently, there is a flash flood warning in place in these locations. These West Coast ports form major parts of the American agricultural supply chain. The Coast Guard warns that possible weather could cause delays.

    This comes after a turbulent year ranging from labor strikes and backlogs, and as the shipping industry deals with logistical challenges in both the Red Sea and the Panama Canal.
