South Floridians may want to take off their jackets as they head into a new work week, because temperatures are expected to drop.

Northwest winds will move in very cold and dry air, easily allowing overnight lows to fall into the lower 50s to start the cold week.

Highs on Monday are expected to only reach the upper 60s — notably ten degrees below average for the day.

Tuesday will not only be the coldest morning of the week, but it is said to be the coldest air South Florida has felt since January 2023. Low temperatures will settle into the upper 40s for western communities, with the lower 50s settling near the beach.

The sun's rays are supposed to help counteract the persistent chill in the air.

Temperatures are expected to continue to drop five to ten degrees below average until the end of the week.

This full array of weather will mark the most spectacular stretch the region has seen so far in the 2023-2024 dry season.
