A British soldier has died after his parachute failed to open while performing a stunt in Thailand, according to reports.
The man has been named by a number of media outlets as Nathi Odinson.
The 33-year-old from Cambridgeshire is said to have jumped from a 29-storey building in the seaside resort of Pattaya on Saturday evening.
According to the Daily Mirror, Police Lieutenant Kamolporn Nadi, deputy inspector of investigations at the Bang Lamung District Police Station, said: “The parachute that the deceased used to jump broke down and was not focused as expected.”
“Forensic officers are investigating the case further. They are examining the parachute.”
A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died Thailand“.
Mr Odinson reportedly crashed into a tree before falling to the ground.
Pictures from the scene showed what appeared to be a blue umbrella on the sidewalk next to a protective helmet.
