(Weather specific) – Good evening and happy Saturday! It was a rainy and windy day across the Carolinas, with some severe storms during the afternoon and evening. There will likely be more on the way overnight before drier weather finally moves in for Sunday. The start of next week looks dry and cool for the area, with temperatures around average in the low 50s. However, more rain is possible once we reach midweek.
Tonight, more rain and thunderstorms are expected as the evening and night hours pass, and some of these storms are likely to be severe. Strong, damaging winds are the main concern for these storms, and an isolated tornado may be present. The wet weather should end by dawn Sunday, with cold temperatures moving into the high 50s. As for the mountains, we see snow throughout the day, with the possibility of a few inches of snow falling at area ski resorts.
As we head into the new week, we expect to get back to reality with our temperatures, with highs throughout the week in the low 50s and some freezes expected as well. Rain chances will be much lower, with a few showers possible on Wednesday. It's possible there could be another storm system next Friday, but details are still vague at the moment.
In the meantime, enjoy the great sleepover weather tonight and prepare for the return of cold weather on Sunday. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
