Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has called for a ceasefire in Gaza, because all the cool kids on the left are doing it right now.
You would think that a man in charge of a city that sees multiple shootings every week would be better off raising this topic, but that didn't seem to cross Johnson's mind.
People on social media quickly mentioned him.
Fox News reports:
Chicago's mayor calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, but social media reminds him of the violence sweeping his city
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson was mocked Thursday after calling for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas when many suggested his city could use it.
Chicago has become notorious for its crime crisis. Fox News analyst Giano Caldwell, who lost his 18-year-old brother in a 2022 shooting in Chicago, described his hometown as an “active war zone.”
Johnson joined other progressives in calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, saying that “the killings must stop,” but his comments did not go down well with conservatives when Heather Cherone, a PBS correspondent in Chicago, shared them on social media.
What does this have to do with me being mayor of Chicago?
BREAKING: Mayor Brandon Johnson joins call for a ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas, saying “the killing must stop” after 25,000 Palestinians were killed, and supports the resolution that the City Council did not vote on today.

Mayor Brandon Johnson must commit to this #Chicago In politics, he seems to be failing miserably at the local level.
Parts of Chicago are a war zone.

Real question: Did the mayor of Chicago or the Chicago City Council devote so much time and effort to a foreign war? If so, when?

Maybe Mayor Johnson can focus on enforcing Chicago's many gun laws and arresting criminals before he ventures into the world of foreign policy.
