Glasgow band Summer Nights At The Bandstand have announced their first names to play the popular festival this year.
The festival will return to Kelvingrove Park from July 23 to August 10, with each day themed around a different show. The bandstand has previously seen the likes of Siouxsie Sioux, the Sugababes and Sophie Ellis-Bextor take to the stage.
Now in its ninth edition, Johnny Marr, Echo & The Bunnymen and Future Island are among the acts scheduled for the summer. Comedian/musician Bill Bailey is also scheduled to perform, and the festival will conclude at Bananarama.

Johnny Marr played a four-star set in Manchester last December, where NME He said: “Countless artists will strut their stuff on Manchester's newest stages over the coming years – Underworld and Adrian Lineker are among those booked – but Johnny Marr has something virtually irreplaceable: hard-earned respect and undying love. Die for this person who is proud of him.” “Music Cities.”
Meanwhile, Echo & The Bunnymen are set to undertake their 'Very Best Of' tour in March this year. The Liverpool band will play a selection of songs from their 40-year career – get your tickets here.
Finally, Future Islands is gearing up to release their record-breaking album, “People Who Aren't There Anymore.” They said in October last year NME that their albums “have gone from a place where they were just records that we were making to now being more like records.” It's the next set of chapters from this longer story.
