One of America's greatest living playwrights, David Mamet is also a conservative. He wasn't always a right-wing man, but he went through a political shift in the 2000s.
Mamet is a huge fan of Donald Trump and recently spoke about it with a member of the press.
You have to give Mamet credit. He works in an incredibly left-wing field, but that doesn't make him censor himself at all. He speaks what he believes in without fear.

His position on so-called “hate speech”
“…Who has the right to say what constitutes hate speech? This is where the power is. […] The most horrific thing in the world is the idea that there are certain crimes that are hate crimes. The question is not what did this person do, but what do you think his or her motives were in relation to some of the societal norms we have today.
It's his comments about Trump, the GOP's likely presidential nominee, that might make even liberals willing to give Mamet the benefit of the doubt for pause, if not indigestion.
