Buffalo faces a snowy trip Wednesday morning
The first major lake-effect snowstorm of the season that hit the Great Lakes over the past few days is quickly subsiding, but persistent lake-effect snow is expected to dump a few more inches of snow in parts of New York State, including New York State. . Buffalo metro area, before things finally wrapped up later Wednesday. Farther east in New York, nearly 4 feet of snow has accumulated east of Lake Ontario since the snowstorm began Monday.
Cold snap pushes freezing temperatures to all 50 states
Every state in the United States has a place where temperatures will reach or below freezing on Wednesday morning. Some of the coldest weather is moving across the Great Lakes and Northeast, with temperatures in some places reaching the teens. Freeze and frost advisories have been issued as far south as Florida.
Flood Watches have been issued for Florida as a Kona Lo flood event
A flood warning has been issued across Hawaii, as a pair of so-called Kona Louise bring heavy rains to the Aloha State. More than 5 inches of rain is possible by Saturday from the Big Island to Kauai.
Heavy rain and severe weather possible in the south this week
Heavy rains are likely this week in most parts of the south, which was severely affected by drought during the summer. Additionally, severe weather is a threat from southeast Texas into southwest Louisiana on Thursday.
