The Rocky Mountains and southern Plains will continue to face weather warnings and winter storm warnings through Friday morning after heavy snowfall, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service predicted that the weather could disrupt daily life and make travel conditions dangerous in areas of northern New Mexico and southern Colorado.
Slightly warmer conditions east of the Plains will bring “rain or mixed wintry precipitation,” forecasters expect. Fog and low visibility Snow occurred in the eastern Plains and central highlands on Wednesday, with snow reaching higher elevations in the northern mountains, the weather service said.
“Snow continues to increase in intensity as it moves north into southeastern Colorado,” meteorologists shared on X (formerly Twitter) with a slow-motion video of falling snowflakes. “Be careful of slick roads during PM's commute as snow moves north and becomes heavier.”

A freezing fog warning for Idaho will be lifted on Thursday
The freeze warning that was put in place for eastern Idaho Tuesday evening will be lifted at noon Thursday.
The weather service said fog removed about a quarter-mile of visibility in local areas of the eastern Magic Valley, Snake River Plain, Raft River Valley and south-central highlands valleys.

Flash flooding remains possible in Texas, New Mexico and Florida
Scattered, isolated storms are still possible in South Florida through Friday, especially in urban or low-lying areas with poor drainage. The remaining frontal boundary causing rainfall will move northward this weekend.
Meanwhile, widespread rain and isolated thunderstorms occurred across Texas and southern New Mexico on Wednesday. The Meteorological Service expects the southern plains to see locally heavy rains with the possibility of flash floods on Thursday and Friday.
