    US ships and submarines fired on Houthi positions in Yemen after another US ship was attacked near the Red Sea.

    US Central Command said 14 missile sites were targeted at around 11.59pm local time on Wednesday.

    Latest updates – The United States carries out a new wave of strikes

    It said it represented an “imminent threat to commercial and US Navy vessels” because it was on the launch rails and ready for launch.

    It is the fourth day of US strikes in less than a week.

    The Ministry of Defense said that British forces were not involved, despite Britain Shared last week.

    America said that the latest Houthi attack occurred at 8:30 pm on Wednesday, when a drone carrying bombs targeted a US-owned ship in the Gulf of Aden.

    Houthi spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree claimed that the ship M/V Ginko Picardie was hit “accurately and directly.”

    The captain said the fire had been extinguished and the ship and crew were safe, the Royal Navy's Maritime Trade Operations said.

    IranThe Houthi-backed fighters initially said they were attacking ships linked to the navy Israel Trying to finish Bombing Gaza.

    However, its attacks appear to have expanded and the US-led coalition is patrolling the Red Sea as a deterrent.

    January 12: US and British strikes hit Yemen

    Many ships avoid the region and sail a much longer route around southern Africa, which threatens to make some goods more expensive.

    The latest attack comes as the United States re-listed the Houthis – who control large parts of Yemen – on its list of global terrorists.

    This move leads to the imposition of sanctions aimed at cutting off these groups from their sources of funding.

    The attacks in the Red Sea region, a vital channel for international trade, began in November and show no sign of stopping despite US strikes.

    Some ships were targeted with drones and missiles, while helicopters were used in some cases to shoot down militants on board.

    Over the weekend, a cruise missile fired at a US Navy destroyer was shot down.

    Another US-owned ship was bombed on Monday and a Maltese-flagged cargo ship the next day, leading to another US strike on missile sites in Yemen.
