Hunter Biden wants the gun charge against him dropped, which is just one of several charges he currently faces. Despite his father's insistence on scaling back Second Amendment protections, the younger Biden argued in court that the prosecution was merely an act of retaliation.
But on Tuesday, federal prosecutors asked the court to deny that request, citing one reason in particular.
Prosecutors say cocaine residue was found in the brown leather bag the president's son used to store his gun.

“The strength of the evidence against him is overwhelming.”
“The strength of the evidence against Biden is overwhelming,” prosecutors said. The gun charges stem from his false claim that he was not a drug user at the time he purchased a gun.
Hunter Biden claims he is being unfairly targeted for political reasons.
“Hunter Biden previously made incriminating statements about his drug use in his 2021 memoir, but investigators now say cocaine was found in a gun bag after it was pulled from a state police vault last year,” Fox News reported.
“To be clear, investigators did find drugs in the bag in which the defendant kept his gun,” prosecutors said.
The story continued:
The president's son pleaded not guilty to federal firearms charges in the US District Court for the District of Delaware in October, which accused him of lying about drug use in October 2018 on a gun purchase form.
He admitted to suffering from cocaine addiction during that period in 2018, but his lawyers say he did not break the law. Hunter Biden has since said he has stopped using drugs and is working to change his life.
Hunter Biden was charged with making false statements when purchasing a firearm; Making a false statement regarding information required to be maintained by a licensed federal firearms dealer; and one count of possession of a firearm by a person unlawfully using or addicted to a controlled substance.
New news regarding Hunter Biden is usually bad news for him and this latest story is no different.
His material, intentionally or not, almost writes itself.

Biden seems to have a sense of entitlement
It's normal for anyone to try to escape criminal charges, but prosecutors claim the evidence they presented against him is so strong that Biden should not be given any special treatment because of who his father is.
Hunter Biden has been nothing but trouble for his father, between drugs, gun charges, shady art deals, and more.
For the judge to simply dismiss this case at this point would reek of corruption, even more so than usual corruption.
Biden's eventual punishment will tell the country how serious the prosecution is.
