Legendary former Three's Company star Suzanne Somers died in October, one day before her 77th birthday, after a decades-long battle with cancer. Now, her husband Alan Hamel, to whom she has been married for 46 years, has spoken out to say he believes her ghost haunts their old home in Palm Springs, California.
Somers' husband speaks
“Three things happened. That same day, it was very strange,” Hamel, 87, told Page Six, adding that the first thing was “a hummingbird flew into our house and made the rounds in the kitchen, living room and dining room.”
The bird then “hovered” in front of a framed picture of Hamel and Somers in the breakfast nook, until it “landed on top and stayed there.”
In the second incident, the heater “fired on its own,” and the third was “playing some music from Susan’s favorite composer.”
“No one had ever heard of this man before,” Hamel said of the composer.
Hamill went on to say that when he sleeps at night, “I feel her lying next to me.”

Hamel now believes in an 'afterlife'
“I now believe there is life after death,” Hamel explained. “I'm convinced that… I think there's something we don't understand. I think there's a plane somewhere… after we get rid of our bodies. We still have our soul. I think our soul is energy. The soul has to go somewhere and do Something.
He continued: “At the time when I am with my family… and I have one of the moments when I have to leave, I go to the bedroom… I am alone there.” “And I feel her presence. As soon as I interact with her presence, I go back and interact with the family. Her grandchildren, one by one, have told me the same thing. “I hope it's all true. It certainly makes the grieving process much easier. If so, we will meet again.”
Hamel then said that he spoke with Somers about the possibility of an afterlife while she was still alive.
We joked about it. Before she was sick. “Before the final act,” Hamel said. “We were joking about one of us dying, it would probably be me because I'm 10 years older than him.”
“Knowing you, you'll be on your way back before you leave,” Hammel recalled Somers telling him.
