London: Kate, Britain's Princess of Wales, has undergone successful abdominal surgery and will remain in hospital for up to two weeks, Kensington Palace said.
The palace statement said that Kate, wife of heir to the throne Prince William, is expected to remain at the London Clinic, a private hospital in central London, for 10 to 14 days before returning home to recover.
She said she was unlikely to return to her public duties until after Easter.
“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate,” the statement read. “She hopes the public understands her desire to maintain as much normalcy for her children as possible; She wants her personal medical information to remain private.
