On Saturday, January 13, Ardest Gallery held the opening reception for its “Art of the Future” exhibition featuring works by more than 20 Texas artists and judged by Joseph Staley. The offer will be open until February 2, 2024.

“Art of the Future” juror Joseph Staley is an art historian, curator, and artist based in Houston. He currently serves as Chairman of the Fine Arts Board of Young Artists of Texas, a Texas-based non-profit organization dedicated to supporting young artists in all their forms: musicians, dancers, singers, writers, and visual artists. In this role, he coordinates visual arts exhibitions featuring active young artists from across the state, hosts educational seminars on art history, and builds lasting connections between artists, our patrons, and the public at large. He previously served as executive curator of Glade Gallery in The Woodlands, wrote as an art critic for OutSmart magazine, and started his contemporary art space, Joseph Staley Projects, officially headquartered in Montrose.

Ardest Gallery, a local fine art gallery curated by gallery director Julie Verville, represents nearly 40 of Texas's leading 2D and 3D visual artists. In addition to the core artists, the gallery will host ongoing events such as monthly group art shows, coffee chat with an artist, lunch art in partnership with local restaurants, poetry readings, musical performances, and art classes/workshops for all ages and ages.
