Former President Donald Trump took the stage Monday night shortly after his easy victory in the Iowa caucus.
Trump, flanked by members of his campaign and former GOP presidential candidate Doug Burgum, took aim at fellow candidates Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley.
“I want to congratulate Ron and Nicky for having a great time together. We're all having a great time together.”
He said that both “performed very well,” adding, “We don't even know what the result of the second places will be.”
He then focused on Vivek Ramaswamy, saying: “He did a fantastic job.”
The rest of Trump's victory speech was a standard campaign rally, as he blasted Joe Biden as the worst president in American history, claiming that “terrorists” were crossing the US-Mexico border, while also repeating that he believed the 2020 election was rigged against him. .
Trump made a side note about ailing President Jimmy Carter, saying: “I said to myself, Jimmy Carter is happy because he will be considered a brilliant president compared to Joe Biden.”
