MSNBC Reidout Host Joy Reid has been on a divisive stoking hot streak, with her main targets this week being ads about Jesus that ran during Super Bowl LVII and, of course, her favorite, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
While some of us are looking forward to watching the highly anticipated Super Bowl commercials more than to the game itself, Reid decided to rain down on everyone’s parade in typical fashion. What could be so offensive that this was required?
Two ads promoting the love and humility of Jesus Christ from the gospel.
Super Bowl ads themed “He Gets Us”
The infringing ads are part of the Servant Foundation’s “He Gets Us” campaign. According to the website, “He Gets Us” is “a movement to reacquaint people with the Jesus of the Bible.” The two Super Bowl spots cost the Servant Foundation over ten million dollars.
The first ad, titled “Love Your Enemies,” speaks directly to the state of our nation. Which means it also goes against those who seek division.
The second declaration, “Be Childlike,” focuses on experiencing the humility, compassion, and kindness of children as Jesus did, and asks, “What can we learn from his example today?”
Joey Reid targets Super Bowl ads about Jesus
The group’s website describes them as “a diverse group of people who are passionate about the honest Jesus of the Bible.” However, Reed describes them as “an LGBTQ hate group” and condemns the Christian group for leading “fights against abortion”.

Reid targeted “supporters” of the campaign, naming Hobby Lobby founder David Green as a donor, citing his status as a funder of “right-wing religious causes”. Her disdain for Christian causes was on full display as she sneered, “because his brand hasn’t been built before.”
The final blow to Reid came in the form of, “And I think it’s fair to say that Jesus Christ is not going to spend millions of dollars on television advertising to promote his image.”
However, “He Gets Us” spokesperson Jason Vanderground explained why they see Super Bowl LVII as the perfect platform to send their message.
“They fit our target audience really well,” Vanderground told the Associated Press of the ads. “We’re trying to get the message across to people who are spiritually open, but skeptical.”
Not surprisingly, Reed found no ally in the hate in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. A fellow liberal AOC snipe, “Something tells me Jesus *wouldn’t* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign.”
Joy Reed sets her sights on “racist” Ron DeSantis
Reid’s mockery of Jesus-themed Super Bowl ads was just an entertaining bush before she sank her teeth into this week’s main show. Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis is a whale of a week.
DeSantis has made himself a prime target for left-wing media with his sweeping reforms that run counter to the current liberal agenda. So, of course, this isn’t the first time Reid has attacked the popular Republican governor.

Reid called out former Republican MSNBC analyst Reid congressman David Jolly to join her DeSantis-bashing. Reed begins by accusing DeSantis of directly and specifically attacking “black people, black immigrants, LGBTQI people, immigrants, and transgender people”. Jolie is piling on by calling her “dangerous” and insinuating that the Republican wants to take America back 50 years.

Reade then doubled down on her attacks against DeSantis in another appearance on MSNBC.
“Ron DeSantis has been waging a full-scale war against the black past and the only black past, and I think that’s an important point… DeSantis is hurting non-black students… It’s illegal to make white people feel uncomfortable in Florida,” she said.

These are some harsh words and serious allegations. What could provoke such anger?
Ron DeSantis announces higher education reform targeting diversity and equity programs
Florida’s governor recently introduced a series of reforms targeting diversity, equity, and inclusion departments in higher education. This move directly threatens to undo the progress that progressives have made with cash race theory and other programs put forward under the guise of “fairness”.

“We will eliminate all DEI and [critical race theory] The bureaucracies in Florida—there is no funding, and this will wither in the vine,” DeSantis said. “This is very important because he really works as an ideological candidate, a political candidate. People want to see real academics, they want to get rid of some of the political sham.”
In Florida, we will ensure that taxpayer-funded institutions of higher learning focus on the pursuit of truth, the promotion of excellence, and the provision of students with a foundation so they can think for themselves, not the imposition of ideological conformity and political activism. pic.twitter.com/OOz5iO1Jwr

Once passed, state funding will be cut off from the diversity, equity, and inclusion departments at state universities. State-funded universities will also not be allowed to request diversity data during the recruitment process.
Taking higher education reforms a step further, DeSantis also proposed ordering new core classes that are “grounded in actual history.” [and] The philosophy that shaped Western civilization.

While it’s disturbing that MSNBC continues to give Reid a platform to spout her shit every day, it’s certainly not surprising, given how radically biased the network is. As long as MSNBC keeps people like Reid on TV, the network shouldn’t be surprised if it continues to struggle in the ratings.
