Inclement weather dominates the headlines before the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Buffalo Bills in a rescheduled wild card game Monday at 4:30 PM ET on CBS and Paramount+. This game was originally scheduled for 1 PM ET on Sunday.
How did they get here?
Buffalo: The 11-6 Bills weathered a whirlwind season on and off the field to win their fourth straight AFC East title, finishing the year with a five-game winning streak. Buffalo fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey in November, giving the interim role to Joe Brady. Star quarterback Josh Allen leads the league in total touchdowns with 44, but he also has 25 turnovers. Receiver Stefon Diggs' production isn't what most people are used to, but many expect a breakout in the playoffs. James Cook for the second year in a row could be a key piece today as well as the defense starts to recover at the right time.
Pittsburgh: The 10-7 Steelers also travel a turbulent road to get to this point, needing to beat the Baltimore Ravens along with some help to reach the playoffs. Pittsburgh also fired its offensive coordinator, letting Matt Canada go in November. Injuries are common in this team as well. While center fielder Kenny Pickett's sprained ankle keeps him out, third baseman Mason Rudolph is leading the way. Star pass rusher and Defensive Player of the Year candidate TJ Watt is also out with an MCL sprain.
