Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is presiding over the crisis communities across the country are facing due to Joe Biden's broken borders.
While the city is hemorrhaging money, Johnson indicates that the city is on the verge of collapse due to the influx of illegal aliens into the city.
In a recent appearance on CNN, Johnson turned to Biden for help, saying: “We have reached a critical point in this mission, which is that in the absence of real and significant intervention right away, our domestic economies are not designed and built to respond to this kind of crisis.” Crises. “

But when pressed on how Chicago would pay for Biden's failures and whether to raise taxes on Chicagoans to pay for the crisis, Johnson declined to answer the question despite being asked three times during an interview with CBS 2's Sabrina Franza on Thursday.
CBS Chicago investigators uncovered records showing Chicago paid at least $138 million from October 2022 to the present to meet the needs of undocumented immigrants, and $95 million of COVID relief funds were diverted to cover housing.
Discussing what has already been spent and the clear need for additional funding, Franza asked: “Are you going to add a tax to help pay for this?”
Johnson didn't offer an answer, “Well, I think people are clearly aware of my vision for revenue in this city, and my revenue, of course, is committed to making sure that we do everything we can to address the problem of unhoused people. The crisis in this city. 70,000 homeless people in this city.” The city is black families, which is why I invested a quarter of a billion dollars in my budget to do this.
The response seemed to fluster Franza, so she asked the question again: “Are you going to add a tax to help pay for the migrant crisis?”
“That's what I've said over and over again,” Johnson replied, sounding frustrated. “This is an international crisis that requires…”
“We heard you say that,” Franza interrupted.
“Well, then you know the answer then,” Johnson said in an angry tone while not answering Franza's question.
“Well, no,” Franza continued, “the question I asked is: Do you add a tax?”
“The answer is the federal government has to do its job,” Johnson replied, to which Franza again pressed, “What if they don’t?”
Johnson then went into a meandering discussion about Ukraine instead of addressing the direct question… Will Chicago taxpayers have to pay for Biden's failures and Chicago's embrace of sanctuary city status?
“True, but that's not the question the people of Chicago are asking,” Franza replied. “The people of Chicago want to know, are you going to raise taxes, whether it's a property tax or do something else.”
“Well, it's interesting,” Johnson said before, again without answering the direct question. “No one ever asked me if I would raise the tax.”
Since it was clear that Johnson would not answer the question, Franza moved on to other topics.
