MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – With most Memphis residents preparing for the severe weather that lies ahead, SCSO Senior Services is doing its part to make sure all of the city's seniors are safe and warm.
This week, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Senior Services Office began conducting health checks.
These checks were to make sure our city's seniors are safer before the winter weather hits the Mid-South.
Volunteers check on seniors every week and provide support via phone or in-person visits.
When the weather becomes suspicious, full-time employees join the effort to conduct more frequent checks.
Now more than ever, the safety of these vulnerable Shelby residents is a top priority.
