As chaos continues at the US-Mexico border, Republicans are demanding action, but Joe Biden and Democrats don't seem to care. So far, they have refused to help solve this very serious problem.

For this reason, the United States has allowed millions of people to enter. Not only do Democrats not seem to have a problem with this, it now appears that this is their party's actual position.

However, in 2015, far-left socialist Bernie Sanders said open borders were “a right-wing proposal of the Koch brothers.”

    We are not kidding.

Below is an excerpt from an interview nine years ago with Vox's Ezra Klein when Sanders was running for president.

The issue of open borders was brought up to the Senator (emphasis added).

In a 2015 interview by Bernie Sanders, he described open borders as a proposal from the Koch brothers aimed at making every American poorer and destroying the nation.

Incredible interview with Bernie about open borders and illegal immigration

Bernie Sanders: “Open borders? No, that's a proposal from the Koch brothers.”

    Ezra Klein: “Really?”

Bernie Sanders: Of course. This is a right-wing proposal Which basically says there is no United States…”

Ezra Klein: “But that would make…”

    Bernie Sanders: “Excuse me…”

Ezra Klein: “It would make a lot of the world's poor richer, wouldn't it?”

Bernie Sanders: “It's going to make everyone in America poorer, and you're getting rid of the concept of the nation state, and I don't think there's any country in the world that believes in that.”

Yes, Bernie Sanders actually said that.

    The interview continued.

Bernie Sanders: “If you believe in a nation-state or a country called the United States or the United Kingdom or Denmark or any other country, in my view, you have an obligation to do everything we can to help poor people.”

“What right-wingers love in this country is open borders,” Sanders added. “Bring in all kinds of people, work for $2 or $3 an hour, it will be great for them.”

“I don't believe in that,” the senator added.

Bernie Sanders is back in his day of opposing open borders.

Bernie Sanders: “Open borders?” This is a proposal from the Koch brothers.

Reporter: “But that would make a lot of the world's poor richer, wouldn't it?”

Bernie: “And that will make everyone in America poorer.” https://t.co/Cq4xPB229a https://t.co/1T3OG1KKKa

    What has changed for Sanders?

In fact, Senator Sanders had some good points about why unlimited immigration is bad for poor people. He also made fascinating comments about the importance of borders in defining what a nation is.

You don't hear Sanders talk like that anymore.

Although he is technically an independent, he seems to prefer to be in good standing with the Democratic Party rather than join Republicans in making the same salient points about the dangers of our essentially open borders.

Bernie Sanders had a large following during his presidential election because they believed he was an honest man who was willing to stand up to the establishment.

But when it comes to illegal immigration, clearly not so much.
