The Minnesota Weather Service expects three rounds of snowfall to affect the area this week. The first round began on Monday morning, but subsequent rounds from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning and midday Wednesday through Thursday evening are expected to be increasingly heavier and have the potential to cause significant travel disruptions.
While the exact totals are still in little flux, the Twin Cities seem likely to get more than a foot of snow between the three waves, and final totals could be closer to 2 feet in regions.
