This week’s big warm-up takes us back to the 80’s! Some records are likely to fall. Chances of rain increase from Tuesday. Check out the video forecasts for the latest. WINTER WARMTH After a very fun weekend with comfortable afternoon temperatures, things are getting really warm as we move through the next few days! Cloudiness increases during the day with afternoon temperatures rising into the high 60s and low 70s. A weak front is approaching on Tuesday, providing an opportunity for scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm. The seven-day forecast will push 20 degrees above average on Wednesday and 20-25 degrees above average on Thursday with temperatures rising to 80 degrees Celsius. Maybe even mid 80’s on a Thursday! That would be close to records on both days (records: 81°F Wednesday, 83°F Thursday). This is also about three weeks early on the first day of 80 degrees in Birmingham, and a storm system headed this way could bring another chance for a few showers from Wednesday evening through Thursday. At this time, it appears that most of the energy associated with the system will only miss us in the northwest. We can thank a massive ridge of high pressure centered over the Gulf of Mexico for that! Unseasonably warm weather will continue into next weekend. 7 DAY FORECAST Get the free WVTM 13 app and turn on alerts to get the latest weather updates Stay informed about the weather and get the free WVTM 13 app and turn on alerts to get the latest weather updates.
