Cold, windy weather in North Texas is a taste of what's to come – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

At Clyde Warren Park in Dallas, every table was open for lunch hour on Tuesday. The cold and windy weather seemed to keep people away.

“It's kind of slow,” Andre Martinez said of his food truck at Eloisa's Kitchen. “I mean, I think it's because of the weather.”

Eloisa's Kitchen was one of the few food trucks parked in the line of food trucks at Klyde Warren Park. The kitchen staff cleaned up early to close early. If the weather forecast holds true early next week, with highs in the 20s, it could skip a few days.

“On those days, I don't know, we might not even go out, because it would be dangerous,” Martinez said. “I don't think it's worth going out when it's this cold.”

It was a cold day at White Rock Lake as well, with only a few people out walking and no one out in the turbulent lake.

“I like the air when it's windy because it keeps it clean,” Francis Bish said of air quality while feeding birds. “I can feel it.”

Piche was gathered in layers and a hat with earflaps.

“The weather is changing now. It's hotter and colder,” Beachy said of the extreme weather in North Texas. He has the advantage. “Hotter! Because when it gets cold, you know, we have to have all these extra layers every day.”
