Oprah Winfrey has broken her silence to respond to rumors that she is having a falling out with Oscar-nominated Hollywood star Taraji P. Henson, who is currently starring in the musical show… the Violet.
Oprah tries to deny the hostility
While walking the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, Oprah tried to shut down rumors that Henson was talking about her when she recently spoke out about gender pay disparity in Hollywood.
“I would just like to say about the whole Esperance thing… I heard it was trending yesterday,” said Winfrey, who produced the film. Violet, he told Entertainment Tonight. “People say I wasn't supporting Taraji. Taraji herself will tell you I was the greatest heroine in this movie. It's not just supporting the projection behind the scenes, it's also everything everyone needs.
“So whenever I hear there's something that someone needs, I'm not in charge of the budget because this is Warner Brothers, and you know that's how the studio system works,” she continued. “As producers, everyone gets paid, and everyone is negotiated by your team. And so, whenever I heard there was a problem or there was a problem, there was a problem with the cars or a problem with their food, I would step in and do everything I could to make it right. And I think She will bear witness to this and say that this is true.

Henson's vocals are off
Henson was using her press tour to Violet To expose what she feels is the gender pay disparity in Hollywood. In an interview published last week, Henson claimed she “fought” and got different things for her fellow black female stars while filming the film.
“They gave us rental cars, and I said to myself, ‘I can’t drive myself to get to Atlanta.’ That’s an insurance liability, it’s dangerous. Now they’re robbing people. What do I look like working alone in a rental car? I don’t know how to do it,” she said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Can I get a driver or a security person to take me?” I'm not asking for the moon. They're saying: Well, if we do it for you, we should do it for everyone.
“Good, Do For everyone! she added. “It's things like that, things I shouldn't have to fight for.”
Henson also complained about the salary, saying, “I haven't gotten a raise since [the 2018 film] Mary is proudAnd I still haven't gotten a raise. They don't care, they are always looking for a deal and trying to pay you the least amount. I remember on Empire I was fighting over the trailers.
