Convicted pharmaceutical fraudster Martin Shkreli told a Daily Beast reporter to “lick my balls” on social media yesterday after the New York Department of Education (DoE) canceled his scheduled lecture on cryptocurrencies at a Brooklyn high school.

Students at Brooklyn Tech have invited the former pharmaceutical chief to give a lecture on the industry, along with cryptocurrencies and artificial intelligence, scheduled for Tuesday. Shkreli, who spent nearly seven years in prison for securities fraud, brought social media attention to the event after telling a reporter he was not welcome.

“The Daily Beast, you are not invited to the main event,” Shkreli wrote in a message. Share on X (formerly Twitter). “However, I will offer you an exclusive opportunity to lick my balls right after.”

Hours later, Shkreli's speech was “postponed indefinitely.” Brooklyn Tech's cryptocurrency club said on Instagram that the Department of Energy viewed this as a “bad PR risk.” Shkreli claimed that the Justice Department received a report from Noah Kirsch, a Daily Beast journalist. The director denies this.

“You bastards, I'm going to host a show in Brooklyn on a Harambee in front of the Department of Energy building, you don't know me,” the 40-year-old threatened.

Shkreli, 40, lives with his sister in Queens, according to his probation officer.

When it emerged that the event had been cancelled, Shkreli available Kirsch with quote: “I'm not crazy. Less work is better for me. I love having fans but I don't want to do work for them because I'm lazy. So it would be nice if it got cancelled, but I think we'll do it somewhere else, which is bad for me because I'm lazy and I said that earlier in that quote.

“You're doing me a favor, honestly. I've been putting off this appearance for about 6 months, but I feel bad for these kids,” Shkreli added.
