The federal judge overseeing special counsel Jack Smith's Jan. 6 case against Trump in D.C. was the latest victim of the “swatting.”
Judge Chutkan's home was destroyed after police received a fake phone call about activity at her home on Sunday night.
“A home owned by the judge overseeing the federal election subversion case against former President Donald Trump was targeted with a fake emergency call Sunday night, the latest in a string of similar false reports at the homes of public officials in recent days.” The Associated Press reported.
“Police responded around 10 p.m. to a report of a shooting at a home in Washington, D.C., linked in public records to U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan. The Metropolitan Police Department said Monday that officers quickly discovered that no shooting had occurred,” the Associated Press reported.
Other lawmakers and high-ranking officials have been victims of “beatings” since last month.
Most of the victims were Republican officials or conservative reporters.
Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jonathan Turley, John Paul McIsaac and others were beaten over the holidays.
Republican Senator and former Governor Rick Scott was beaten over Christmas. His home in Naples, Florida, was destroyed in late December. After the Christmas attack, Scott announced he would push legislation to ensure the “cowards” behind the swatting calls face real consequences.
The mayor of Boston, the attorney general of Ohio, and several officials in Ohio and Georgia were beaten over Christmas.
On Sunday night, Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft posted on Channel X that his home in Jefferson City, Missouri, had been bombed.
