Girdwood: a mountain city with adventure and magic

Turnagain arm is the place where nature takes the center of the lead. The highway embraces the coast, as travelers provide a seat in the front row of one of the most dramatic landscapes in Alaska. Palmer: Alaska Heart
The Matanuska-Susitna Valley, locally known as Mat-Su, is one of the fastest growing regions in Alaska. Wasilla may be the largest city, but Palmer is the town seat with a strange historical charm. It is also home to Alaska’s state exhibition, where giant vegetables come out to play, including massive cabbage that weighs more than 138 lbs and 7.5 feet.
Many residents move for 45 minutes to a marina to work, but visitors can take daily trips to Palmer to obtain entertainment opportunities in the massive open air.
Tours of thin farm
