S. Raekwon has released “If There's No God…”, the latest single from the New York City-based musician's upcoming album Steven. It follows previous outings “Old Thing” and “Steven's Smile.” Check out the video below.
“If There Is No God…” is the emotional and thematic centerpiece of the album, Raekwon said in a statement. “It's about wondering if the ugliness inside me defines who I am. Should I judge my worst? Am I too hard on myself? For a while, I wasn't sure how to end the song. Religion and morality are big topics. But I love “This song because it's not trying to answer any of that. It's not judging anyone. It's just about me.”
POND Creative added to the video: “To make this New York-based Groundhog Day story, we rode the Staten Island Ferry back and forth, over and over again, from Manhattan to Staten Island. From remorse to shame, rage, chaos, at sunrise, at sunset, and in the morning.” And, afternoon, dawn, and dusk, we watched Stephen feel a range of emotions within the walls of the ferry.
Steven It will be released on May 3 via Father/Daughter Recordings.
