Turkmenistan and Turkey are considering cooperation in the field of culture

AKIPRESS.COM – Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and the delegation headed by the Secretary General of the International Turkish Culture Organization (TURKSOY) Sultanbay Raev held a meeting on March 25. The delegation arrived to participate in the ceremony declaring the Turkmen city of Anaw. The Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it will be the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World 2024.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked the Secretary-General of the organization for his participation in the celebrations. The two sides also exchanged views on holding and participating in joint events dedicated to declaring Anau as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World and declaring the year 2024 as the Year of the Poet and Thinker Magtimguli Fragi, in connection with the 300th anniversary of his birth.

An important topic of conversation was the issue of promoting Magtymguly Fragi's works, as well as the cultural significance of Annau on various international platforms, such as TURKSOY, UN, UNESCO and others.

The two parties expressed their satisfaction with the preparation of the program of events. The Turkmen side thanked TURKSOY for its work and noted that Turkmenistan aims to expand the comprehensive work on cooperation with the International Organization of Turkish Culture.
