In the world of art, Jiawei Fu It is the bridge that crosses from culture to culture, from emotion to emotion, from narrative to narrative, creating pieces that give us the ability to travel from one country to another and find ourselves in the stories. Hailing from her hometown of Guangzhou, China, and now maturing in Los Angeles, USA, in her work as an interior designer and illustrator, the textures and bright colors used are like an invitation to tell stories while building connection.

Jiawei's central artistic element is the message she learned from her family to always care about communication that can improve the quality of life. For her, communication is more than just words; It can be considered a form of expression that goes beyond words. Her artworks have become a means to pictorially convey the complexities of human communication and an invitation to the audience to have a conversation that transcends language. Fu says, Every work there is a real life story behind. They come from people in my life, across my life or outside of my life. As an artist/interior designer, storytelling is always the most important part of my creative personality because I believe that is what brings people together.

Jiawei painting is mainly made of egg tempera, which is one of the defining features of this painting technique. This ancient type, also called tempera, matches the dye with a water-soluble binder such as egg yolk. The finished artwork can be painted on many different types of materials such as wood, canvas or paper, but it will always look bright and solid. In this detail-oriented photography the artist's spirit is stirred, as her brushes spark creativity with each stroke bearing purpose.

Within her extensive body of work, two distinct series stand out: “Deceitful lovers” And “Yellow is your blue.”

“Deceitful lovers” The artist goes deep into romantic love, and gives lies in different ways that he uses to cause harm within. Each piece in the series becomes a window into the world of the conspiracy, with subtle, telling gestures and richly colored colors that reveal what lies beneath the surface. Among the different love stories she has seen and understanding the illusion and truths behind them, Jiawei uses love stories in a way that makes viewers reach the point of questioning the perspective of love and the real story in her series of paintings.

If there were really 100 types of love, then the number of lies would be equal.

We will always find our “soul mate”.

Since the idea of ”love” became so cruel,
Cruel and commercial? We just integrate ourselves
In the hard shell and becomes the hard shell.

While the series is titled “My yellow is your blue” It is an abstract representation of the calm and pure bond between us and their eyes. The subject is revealed through complex layers of acrylic, plaster and egg yolk. It allows the artist to depict close relationships between people. Each painting becomes a testament to the importance of empathy and appreciation, as Jiawei succeeds in translating the events of the human touch into the language of the horizon, with an emphasis on beauty and tenderness. “Translation” explores the concept that some feelings can be universal and not limited to language or its cultural barriers. The title itself, “Translation”, suggests that Jiawei might want to illuminate the idea that emotions can be universally understood.

Viewing conflicts as opportunities to discover bridges and a sense of belonging in such a harsh era.

Her artistic works are not limited only to drawing, but also touch on interior design. Just like her previous roles as an interior designer at brands like Kelly Wearstler and Studio UNLTD, Jiawei is able to express herself through storytelling through the spatial environment. The artist does this by creating unique environments through her designs that not only evoke emotions, but also start conversations that play a role in bringing people together.

Jiawei's accomplishments have not only earned her a reputation in her home city, but have also caught the attention of an international audience, culminating in performances in leading cities such as New York, Berlin and Monaco. Her work has been used by a number of reputable publishers including American Art Collector and Vogue China, ensuring her status as an art world star.

The art of Jiawei Fu, at its core, is a story about how language and communication can become a means of reaching across divisions and gaining understanding. Her art speaks to the viewer, drawing him on an exciting journey of discovery that sparks curiosity and thought, and leads him to see life anew. In an age that places meetings at the pinnacle of distinction and controversy, her work is a ray of hope that reminds us of the universal language that exists to unite us all – the language of art.
