Star Wars, Stark Trek, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings. If it's in a movie, comic book or video game, it'll likely be on display Saturday at a pop culture celebration in Saskatoon.
The celebration, hosted by the Museum of Western Development, brought people and their interests together, from the niche to the mainstream.
The celebration was organized by Bob McIntyre, a huge Star Wars fan, and aims to be a judgment-free zone.
“Anyone who wants to come, you can dress up if you want to come here. You can buy whatever you want. There's no judgment here,” McIntyre said.
Stalls were set up where people were selling their homemade goods, comic collections and collector's items.
“There are things you can't find anywhere, and they'll bring them here. It's an opportunity to find something that makes you happy,” McIntyre said.
A game room was set up by Toon Con, where board games were held throughout the day.
This was the second annual celebration of popular culture, and a third is now being planned.
