Here are some upcoming local events that are on our radar:

    • Celebrate Purim at the Museum at Eldridge on Monday, March 25 at 6pm, with Paul Shapiro's Purim! Take a trip back in time and sing, dance, and laugh with a fun concert in the museum's main campus, featuring Paul Shapiro (sax and vocals), Dan Rosengard (piano), and Larry Eagle (drums)!
    • Watch Tracy McLendon's first hour of comedy, “Sexy Lil Goober” (pictured above) at Caveat on Tuesday, March 26 at 9:30 p.m. “Equal parts love letter and ransom letter to New York City, it covers what it takes to be a 'real' New Yorker… from growing up in a haunted house in Far Rockaway to being dragged by a city bus to falling into an open grating subway…”
    • Join Emily Johnson and Karen Recollet for “Kinstillatory Maps in Light and Dark Matter” on Thursday, March 28 at 6pm in Abrons Park, with a ceremonial bonfire focusing on Indigenous protocol and knowledge. Guest artists and organizers share stories and performances honoring and protecting the land, water and air of Lenapehocking, home to Lenapeuk, where the Abrons Center for the Arts is located.
    • Hear Defector Writers, an employee-owned sports and culture website, offer selected reads on sports, politics and culture at Yu and Me Books (now that the store has returned to their home on Mulberry Street) as part of the Defector Reading Series.
