Internal sorting features
The most important lists of internal activities
Insider Screener monitors insider trading activity for over 34,000 stocks on global markets. It tracks stocks on multiple exchanges in the US, UK, Canada, Europe, India, and Australia.
The platform uses algorithms to automatically identify unusual insider buying or selling activities and compiles this data into lists. For example, there are “Top Insider Buying” and “Top Insider Selling” lists, which include companies in which an executive buys or sells a significant amount of stock.
Two really noteworthy lists are the “Group Top Buys” and “Group Top Sales” lists. These highlight companies where multiple insiders are buying or selling large amounts of shares within a short period of time. Stocks on these lists are excellent candidates to watch for upcoming price movements.
Internal activity analysis
Insider Screener provides more details about the insider activity of all the stocks it tracks. you can see:
- That is, insiders bought or sold shares
- When the trades were made
- How many stocks did they trade?
- Percentage change in insiders' holdings
- How much was each trade worth?
The platform offers historical data going back 20 years as well as summary statistics highlighting total insider buying and selling activity over the past 90 days. You can examine the data to view only buys or sells, transactions made by specific administrators, transactions exceeding a threshold value, and more. You can also download the scanned data to a CSV file for further analysis in Excel.
Insider Screener also displays insider trading activity on the price chart. It's easy to see when buying or selling activity has spiked and whether that activity is likely to be in response to significant changes in a stock's price.
Stock sorting
Insider Screener offers a basic stock screener that lets you filter by country, market cap, and sector.
The results table shows the number of insiders who purchased shares, the total value purchased, the percentage of shares purchased, and the percentage of shares held by insiders. The table is sorted by 'Insider Activity Score', but Insider Screener doesn't provide any information on how this is calculated.
🏆 Top rated services 🏆
Our team has reviewed more than 300 services. These are our favourites:
The screener is a great tool for finding stocks in specific industries that have significant insider buying activity. However, it could be significantly improved if more filters were available or results could be sorted according to a column other than the internal activity score. Unfortunately, you cannot export data from the scanner.
Watchlist
Insider Screener allows you to add an unlimited number of stocks to your watchlist. The Watch List displays recent transactions from companies you follow. You can also turn on email alerts to be notified of any new transactions at companies you follow.
Internal inspection platform marking tools
Insider Screener is one of the few tools you can use to track insider trading activity. Other options include Insider Alerts and InsiderCow.
Compared to any of these tools, Insider Screener offers much more value. Insider alerts cover only about 1,500 US stocks and do not contain any screening tools. InsiderCow offers a screening tool similar to Insider Screener, but InsiderCow is much more expensive.
Insider Alerts is also the only tool we've seen that uses algorithms to curate lists of companies with unusual insider trading activity. This makes the platform more powerful as you can quickly find companies that may be candidates for trades.
What type of trader is the Insider Screener suitable for?
Insider Screener is ideal for active traders and investors who want to use insider trading activity as a signal to see if a company is bullish or bearish. While internal activity is not a perfect indicator of a stock's future, it does provide insight into whether a company's leadership team believes the company is headed in the right direction.
You can use Insider Screener to generate ideas thanks to curated lists of stocks with unusual insider activity. Alternatively, you can create a watchlist of stocks you already trade to get email alerts about new insider activity.
