METZ have released “Light Your Way Home,” the latest preview and closing track for their upcoming LP Even on Gravity Hill. Following on from previous singles “99” and “Entwined (Street Light Buzz),” the track features vocals from Black Mountain’s Amber Webber. Check out director Colin Medley's video below.
“Light Your Way Home is definitely one of our favorites Even on Gravity Hill“, METZ frontman Alex Edkins explained in a statement. “I was listening to a lot of Jesu and Low (as I do most winters) when writing this book. Lyrically, it's about missing your loved ones to the point of losing your grip on reality. We distorted and added a mechanical slap back to the drums to create a wild, huge sound. I love the amount of production we got on this. It's unlike anything we've made before, sonically or lyrically. Working with Amber Webber (Black Mountain, Lightning Dust) was absolutely amazing, and her voice takes this song to another stratosphere. I think the video by Colin Medley perfectly captures the spirit and intent of the song.
Even on Gravity Hill It is scheduled to be released on April 12 via Sub Pop.
