Qatar World Academy's existing infrastructure will undergo a redesign, with separate entrances for boys and girls to ensure full segregation throughout the day in all classrooms.

Qatar Academy – Al Wakra, affiliated with Qatar Foundation’s pre-university education, revealed its plans to open a building dedicated to girls for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Qatar Foundation officials hailed the move as a testament to Qatar Friendly Academy’s dedication to creating a comprehensive and supportive learning environment that meets the specific requirements of its students.

Separate facilities for girls at the school aim to create an environment in which every student feels valued and encouraged to excel both academically and personally.

As the next academic session approaches, Qatar Women's Academy has allocated 127 seats for students, including 91 seats for girls inside the newly allocated buildings.

Abeer Al Khalifa, Head of Pre-University Education at Qatar Foundation, said: “This initiative reflects our commitment to creating an educational environment that nurtures and empowers every student.”

She added: “This positive transformation underscores the importance of providing an educational experience that meets the diverse needs and aspirations of our community.”

“By providing separate areas that honor the strong connections between our students and their culture and traditions, we not only foster respect for diversity, but also instill in our students a sense of responsibility to both local and global communities.”

Al Khalifa explained that the “QAW” initiative embodies an innovative strategy in creating an ideal educational environment for girls, as it provides them with distinct spaces to express themselves freely.

“This is not just a logistical measure, but also an investment in enhancing individual talents, and enabling students to excel academically and creatively according to their preferences,” she said.

“It represents a step forward in achieving excellence, enhancing skills development, and raising a generation ready to succeed in various aspects of life.”

At the same time, Director of Qatar Academy Al-Won, Badriya Itani, stressed the importance of understanding cultural and societal requirements in fostering graduates who are deeply rooted in the local spirit.

Itani stressed that the classroom initiative integrates seamlessly with these fundamentals, which are critical to the school’s mission.

Itani noted, “This initiative will allow us to maintain our strong relationship with the community of residents and meet their needs effectively.”

The girls' section will be fully equipped with amenities covering science laboratories, music rooms, art studios, engineering facilities and IT rooms.

Qatar World Academy's existing infrastructure will undergo a redesign, with separate entrances for boys and girls to ensure full segregation throughout the day in all classrooms.

This initiative, which is scheduled to be completed by August 2024, is consistent with Qatar Women’s Academy’s commitment to providing equal access to a wide range of courses and activities for both genders.

Qatar Friendly Academy currently serves more than 1,300 students from preschool through 12th grade.
