Fans were left upset online after Madonna questioned a concert-goer over sitting during her show – before realizing they were in a wheelchair.
The famous pop icon performed at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Thursday during a stop on her world tour.
“What are you doing sitting there?” she shouted from the stage, pointing to the cheering crowd. “What are you doing sitting down?”
Walking to the edge of the stage and taking a closer look, the singer added: “Oh, okay. Politically incorrect, sorry about that. “I'm glad you're here.”
Madonna's representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
A video of the incident, which circulated on social media this weekend, quickly sparked some backlash from netizens, many of whom expressed their disappointment over the singer's statements.
The video has received more than 2.4 million views on TikTok, where it was first posted.
“What's her problem,” one TikTok user commented with several crying emojis, garnering 16,000 likes.
Another commented: “Something about 'I'm glad you're here' makes it worse.”
At X, many objected to Madonna because she disapproved of the audience at all.

Some also questioned whether sitting during a concert was worth raising the issue in the first place.
