As the continent moves forward into the digital age, there is a bustling scene of emerging technology accelerators with the promise of providing platforms where innovation and entrepreneurship intertwine. However, no one comes closer to fulfilling this promise than ALX Africa, as evidenced by the hundreds of thousands of its graduates who successfully pursue and thrive in their careers and businesses in technology.
ALX, Africa's leading technology career accelerator, continues to strengthen its commitment to fostering technological advancement by creating dynamic experiences for current and prospective learners. Through strategic sponsorship of two major events: NITDA Co-Create Tech Expo and Martech Africa 1.0, it continues to promote and advocate for artificial intelligence (AI) across the continent.
The NITDA Co-Create Tech Expo, held annually, serves as a platform to highlight the latest developments in technology and foster collaboration among industry stakeholders. However, Martech Africa 1.0 is a pioneering event focused on exploring the intersection between marketing and technology, providing insight into emerging trends and best practices.
ALX actively engaged with attendees during both events, especially young people, highlighting its free Artificial Intelligence Essentials (AiCE) course and other offerings that can be found on its website www.alxafrica.ng. Through interactive sessions and demos, ALX highlighted the transformative power of AI and its ability to drive innovation across sectors.
In a panel discussion at the NITDA Co-Create Expo, Robbie Igwe, Country Director of ALX, emphasized the importance of AI education in today’s rapidly evolving landscape, saying: “AI has tremendous potential to revolutionize industries and create new opportunities for economic growth in Africa. By providing accessible education and resources, ALX is empowering the next generation of African innovators to harness the power of artificial intelligence and drive positive change.
Sion Babajide Durochola, ALX National Marketing Manager, also emphasized the benefits of taking courses through ALX, saying: “ALX offers comprehensive, industry-relevant training courses designed to equip learners with the skills needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market. Our partnerships with events such as NITDA Co-Create Tech Expo and Martech Africa 1.0 Our commitment to supporting talent development and fostering innovation across Africa.
In addition to reaching relevant technology communities by actively participating in high-value technology events, the Career Accelerator also ensures that learners and the peer community receive a holistic and comprehensive learning experience. One of them is the Interview and CV Workshop held in all its eleven centers around Lagos.
These sessions featured HR experts who guided participants on how to develop a compelling resume, avoid common mistakes, and adequately prepare for interviews to identify any technical role they may apply for. A really useful exercise as some ALX learners have been successful in securing job roles afterwards.
By participating in these events, and creating impactful community engagements, ALX affirms its position as a driving force in Africa's technology ecosystem, dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations to achieve success in the digital age. With its industry-standard technology programs and strategic partnerships, ALX drives positive change and fosters innovation across the continent. For more information visit www.alxafrica.ng.
