Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. released his own State of the Union address last night on Channel X.
Kennedy began his speech by recalling America's past as a model nation that served as a moral authority around the world.
Kennedy declared that our country was famous for its integrity, was envied for its freedoms, and had an economy that allowed citizens to support their families on a single paycheck.
He then turned to the state of America today and said: “Neither my uncle nor my father would recognize the version of America we have today. We have become a nation plagued by chronic disease, violence, loneliness, depression, division and poverty.
“Our big cities have become encampments, and modern-day Hooverville is full of illegal immigrants, disenfranchised Americans, and people living in their cars and suffering from addiction and mental illness,” the presidential candidate continued.
Kennedy then focused on the drug epidemic and noted that more people had died from drug overdoses in the past decade than had died in the 20 years of the Vietnam War.

Recently, the Kennedy campaign received enough signatures to get on the ballot in Nevada, Hawaii, Utah, Georgia and New Hampshire.
Kennedy's campaign has raised concerns among the Democratic Party, and in a recent CNN broadcast, host Van Jones said people are “underestimating” Bobby Kennedy.

“It's growing. It's building. It's doing it online with all these things that most of us don't really follow.”
