BOSTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / March 8, 2024 / Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), the smart tracking technology leader of the Piaggio Group, has announced the launch of PFF Kilo™, the latest addition to its portfolio of mobile technology solutions for businesses.
Kilo is a four-wheeled robotic flat bed with hands-free human tracking capabilities. With a payload of up to 300 pounds and a top speed of 3 mph, the Kilo is designed to work side-by-side with humans, allowing users to move materials more naturally and without the risk of repetitive motion injuries. Kilo represents the first introduction to PFF's autonomous travel behavior, allowing users to train robots on routes up to 100 meters long and store up to 100 trips per fleet for future use.
Designed to operate in complex environments both indoors and outdoors, PFF Kilo offers customizable mobile solutions for businesses across hospitality, manufacturing, retail, travel, indoor agriculture, construction and more. Kilo can be optionally equipped with industry or facility-specific trolleys or racks, ensuring the right platform configuration for any job. It works in an innovative way, without requiring costly infrastructure requirements or advanced operator training. Kilo is also equipped with the web portal and mobile app for PFF pro™ tools, allowing for fleet management and regular software improvements.
“Our robotics technology is augmenting workforces around the world, and the PFF Kilo is the latest model to offer customizable options with the ability to leverage our latest software and data tools to manage the human-robot relationship,” said CEO Greg Lane. “From manufacturing to any industry that relies on the frequent movement of goods across campuses and facilities, PFF’s autonomous technology allows our robots to safely move with and around workers in complex environments and assist individuals in the workplace, streamlining workflows and increasing productivity.”
Kilo is operated using a single intuitive button that indicates the functional status and features of the robot through color, brightness and light patterns. The robot uses human etiquette algorithms, depth cameras, and 4D radar, and is optimized to detect and predict human behavior while operating at pedestrian speeds. Hands-free monitoring allows for indoor and outdoor use for a wide range of environments and applications. Kilo is intuitive, easy to use and developed with worker safety in mind, designed to increase worker efficiency and safety, enhancing workers and jobs rather than replacing them.
Kilo is equipped with PFF Tools pro™ fleet management software. The proprietary cloud-based software tool is a next-generation fleet management solution designed to improve and enhance the working relationship between humans and their robotic counterparts. PFF's next generation bots provide integration and orchestration features that allow teams to achieve more while collaborating with their bot partners.
PFF will present the Kilo at MODEX, March 11-14, 2024. For a demo, visit booth A10907 at MODEX or email business@piaggiofastforward.com to schedule an appointment.
