The severe weather threat level was raised for parts of the Mid-South Friday into early Saturday. There is a marginal risk (Level 1 out of 5) of severe weather for Memphis and most of the Mid-South.
The risk in parts of East Ark and North Mays has increased from level 1 to level 2 out of 5.
Today, we will have intermittent heavy rain in the morning, especially in northern Mississippi. Scattered rain and storms are possible in the afternoon.
A more organized line of rain and thunderstorms moves from Arkansas through western Tennessee and northern Mississippi tomorrow night and early Saturday morning.
The weekend will be cooler with sunshine returning Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Friday: Morning showers and thunderstorms mainly south of I-40. Scattered showers More widespread showers and thunderstorms Friday night. Highs in the mid-60s. Wind: Southeast 10-15 mph.
Saturday: Rain and thunderstorms mainly in the morning, with isolated showers in the afternoon. Cooler with highs in the mid 50s.

Sunday: More Sunni and cool. Highs in the upper 50s.
Monday: Sunny and milder. Highs in the low 60s.
Tuesday: Sunny and warm. Highs near 70 degrees.
Wednesday: Sunny and warm. Highs in the low 70s.
