Marjorie Taylor Greene twice pressed President Biden in her State of the Union address to say the name of Laken Riley, the 22-year-old nursing student at the University of Georgia who was tragically killed by an undocumented immigrant while jogging on campus.
It worked. somewhat. If only he knew her name.
The first incident occurred during the time-honored tradition in which the president enters the chamber and is greeted by members of Congress as he proceeds to deliver the State of the Union address.
In a direct face-to-face confrontation, Greene (R-Ga.) handed Biden a pin with Lakin Riley's name and face on it and demanded: “Lakin Riley. Say her name.”
The suspect in Riley's murder, Jose Ibarra, is an illegal immigrant who was arrested in 2022 for illegally crossing the border near El Paso, Texas. The details of the case are horrific.
Republicans point out that her case is an example of the president's failed policies on open borders.

Greene confronts Biden again during the State of the Union address
Biden gave a somewhat controversial State of the Union address, full of partisan attacks against his political opponents, a notable breach of decorum for such an event.
Many of his comments sparked outcries from Republican lawmakers who rejected his assertions. When the president spoke about the border crisis, Greene shouted again: “Say her name.”
him too. Well, at least he is Try to.
“Lincoln, Lincoln Riley,” Biden said, holding up the pin Greene had handed him earlier. “An innocent young woman was murdered by an illegal person.”
The off-script Biden had to leave his handlers scratching their heads. He quickly made matters worse by downplaying Reilly's killing and pointing out that more Americans had been killed by “the lawful.”

Amazing moment
Forcing President Biden to name a woman killed by an illegal immigrant during his State of the Union address is a great moment. Especially for the man who ran the most pro-law administration in the history of this nation.
His Department of Homeland Security warned against using the term “illegal alien” in 2021. Many Democrats were outraged that he used the word at all. They were apparently even more angry about the killing of Laken Riley herself.
There has been some debate over whether or not President Biden meant to say “illegals” or “legal” in regards to his follow-up statement regarding Riley.
Former Fox News producer Kyle Baker maintains that the comment was terrible no matter how you look at it.
“If Biden meant to say 'legalists,'” Baker wrote on “.
“If he means illegal immigrants, he condemns his disastrous border policies.”
In addressing the killing of Laken Riley, President Biden did as he often does. He compared her killing to the death of his son Beau.
He said: “To her parents, I say that my heart is broken with you, because I lost my children, and I understand that.”
Critics might point out that Beau Biden's death, while certainly tragic and heartbreaking, cannot be compared to the loss of a child to a largely preventable homicide.
