    LUBBOCK, Texas (KLBK) – Here is your updated forecast from the First Weather Warning Center KLBK:

    Friday's weather is expected to be cloudy to cloudy, breezy, and cooler. There is a weak chance of rain showers in the morning and afternoon in some areas. High temperatures will range from the mid 40s to mid 50s. Winds will be northerly at 15-25 mph. The chance of rain is 20 percent.

    Tonight:
    The weather is expected to be cloudy in most areas and cold this evening and tonight. Lows will range from the mid 20s to mid 30s. Winds will be northerly, at a speed of 15 to 25 knots

    Saturday:
    Weather is expected to be mostly sunny to sunny and cool Saturday across the Southern Plains and Rolling Plains. It will be breezy at times. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will be northerly, at a speed of 10 to 20 knots.

    Expanded forecast:
    Scattered rain is expected on Friday in some areas across the southern plains and rolling plains. The opportunity remains for rain and thunderstorms to fall on Thursday in some areas.

    High temperatures on Friday will be cooler and range from the mid 40s to mid 50s. Highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 50s. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid to upper 60s. Highs on Monday will be in the 70s to mid 70s. Highs on Tuesday will range from the mid to upper 70s. Highs on Wednesday will range from the mid 70s to mid 80s.     Low temperatures on Saturday and Sunday range between the middle twenties and mid thirties. Monday's lows will range from the middle 30s to lower 40s. Lows Tuesday and Wednesday morning will range from the upper 30s to upper 40s. The lowest weather levels are expected on Thursday…

    Don't forget to put your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night or when you wake up on Sunday morning.

    Lubbock Fire Rescue also recommends taking the time to test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to see if the batteries need changing.

    Drought update:
    There are still no notable changes in drought conditions across the Southern Plains and Rolling Plains, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) update released Thursday, March 7. A good portion of the Southern Plains and all of the Southern Plains and Rolling Plains remain classified as drought-free. Moderate drought (D1) conditions continue to be reported across parts of the south-northwest Plains. Meanwhile, abnormal drought (D0) continues to be reported across the northwest Southern Plains, far western Southern Plains, and parts of the southwestern Plains.
