There are still no notable changes in drought conditions across the Southern Plains and Rolling Plains, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor (USDM) update released Thursday, March 7. A good portion of the Southern Plains and all of the Southern Plains and Rolling Plains remain classified as drought-free. Moderate drought (D1) conditions continue to be reported across parts of the south-northwest Plains. Meanwhile, abnormal drought (D0) continues to be reported across the northwest Southern Plains, far western Southern Plains, and parts of the southwestern Plains.
