After announcing a full collaboration late last year, Metro Boomin and Future have announced the release of two new albums in the coming weeks.
The duo announced that “We Don't Trust You” will be released on March 22, with a second album set to be released on April 12. The duo released a trailer for the two records on YouTube, showing the rapper and superstar producer riding in white cars through the desert before jumping out and standing side by side.
“There's a lot of dirty rappers out here, running around,” the clip's voiceover says. “These lyrics ain't supposed to be rap, son. This game is for a select, simple group. A select few, man. And that's what it is today. I don't care, nothing's changed.”
Metro and Future first met when the former was 17 years old, and their collaboration dates back to 2013. Metro has had a large hand in producing several of the rapper's albums, including 2015's “DS2” and “What a Time to Be Alive “. His joint project with Drake.
As a producer, Metro has risen to become one of music's top artists. In December 2022, he released his second solo album “Heroes & Villains”, and shortly after helmed the soundtrack for “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”. Last month, he was nominated for Non-Classical Producer of the Year at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
Future has also achieved a similarly astronomical rise since his debut solo album “Pluto” in 2012. He last released a solo album in 2022 with “I Never Like You,” and has put out full-length projects alongside Zaytoven, Young Thug, and Lil. Uzi Vert.
