    UPBTVP, Culture Department gears up for the grand Braj Rangotsav

    Lucknow Uttar Pradesh Braj Tirth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) and Culture Department have started preparations to organize the grand festival of Rangotsav (Holi) in Mathura.

    Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said: “The Holi festival in Mathura and Vrindavan is a colorful celebration, deeply woven into the fabric of the cultural and religious history of the region. The celebrations here draw their roots from tales of Lord Krishna’s early life spent in Vrindavan, and are a spectacle of unique rituals.” And the joyous gatherings that attract people from all over the world.The state government has set up basic facilities in Mathura, Vrindavan and Barsana to attract domestic and international tourists.The aim is to attract as many tourists as possible from all over the world to witness Holi celebrations in Mathura-Vrindavan and Barsana.

    “The festival spans 40 days, but the real enthusiasm builds a week before Holi. The celebrations begin with Laddoo Holi and Lathmar Holi in Barsana, and the state government is all set to implement it successfully,” he said.

    The minister said that Holi Braj has special significance as it is associated with Lord Krishna. The Braj region, including Mathura, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Gokul, Nandgaon and Barsana, has been known for its unique Holi celebrations which the administration will showcase to attract tourism.

    A tourism ministry official said: “The vibrant Lathmaar Holi festival celebrated in Barsana near Mathura can generate huge amounts of money as well as a big advertisement for Indian culture. This playful affair involves women chasing men with sticks, symbolizing the passionate and exciting love shared between Lord Krishna and the Gopis. It is a lively spectacle, showcasing the vibrant Holi spirit of this region, while Mathura and Vrindavan are known for their grand Holi processions featuring the idols of Lord Krishna and Radha. These processions, accompanied by live music and fanfare, will pass through the streets, creating a visual spectacle of It will captivate both locals and visitors alike, and we are fully prepared for it.

    Principal Secretary, Culture and Tourism, Mukesh Meshram said, “The ministry is planning to organize this festival ideally, not only in Barsana, Mathura and Vrindavan but also in important temples like the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, where devotees and tourists come together to enjoy a part in the celebrations. Here, colors become a medium.” To express Lord Krishna, accompanied by devotional songs, dances and an all-encompassing divine atmosphere.

    The traditional Phoolon Wali Holi festival, where flowers replace colorful powders, will also be organized for foreign guests. This elegant tradition sees devotees and visitors joyfully throwing flower petals at each other, turning the celebration into a fragrant and visually stunning experience.

    The department also plans to serve delicious cuisine with special Holi sweets and dishes. From the famous Gujiya drink to Thandai, a traditional drink that adds a refreshing twist, diverse regional dishes will contribute to the gastronomic richness of the celebration.
