DENVER (KDVR) — Snow is falling across Colorado and will interfere with Denver's weather Thursday evening and continue into early Friday, which will be a Minute Weather Alert day.
According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado's most accurate forecast, the metro could see a few inches of accumulation by early Friday, which could lead to smooth, slow movement. Snow will end from north to south later in the afternoon.
Weather tonight: snow and cold
Snow will continue to fall throughout the night across the mountains and along the Front Range. The snow will end in far northeastern Colorado later Thursday night.
Temperatures will be cold and below freezing across the state, with readings in the teens and twenties. Roads will become soft and smooth in most places after sunset.
Weather tomorrow: Snow will fall early and end late
There will be snow early Friday during the morning commute, especially along the Front Range and in metro Denver. Roads can be soft to slushy for several hours while driving.
The snow will retreat from north to south later today. Roads should improve in time for Friday evening's drive.
Looking Ahead: The weather is warmer ahead of the upcoming rain and snow
The weather dries quickly Friday night, giving way to a sunny weekend. Temperatures will rise into the seasonable 50s on Saturday followed by the warmer 60s on Sunday. There will be a lot of snowmelt as a result.
The milder 60s will continue to begin next week.
The next chance for rain and snow arrives midweek with another shot of cold temperatures. The Pinpoint Weather team is forecasting rain Wednesday mixing with snow into Thursday.
This forecast will be monitored for cold temperatures and the exact storm track. These changes could mean the difference between rain and snow versus all the snow and accumulation.
