The new CTO will also be responsible for product strategy and development covering all regions, including Asia Pacific, a growth area for Calastone.
Calastone, a global funds network, has appointed Nick Parsons as Chief Technology Officer.
Parsons will be responsible for Calastone's technology operations as well as product strategy and development, covering all regions including Asia Pacific, a key growth region for Calastone, the company said in a statement.
Previously, Parsons was CEO of software company Bravura Solutions, which has a strong presence in Asia. He has over 30 years of experience in IT and asset management and is a technology leader known for specializing in financial sector solutions for fund managers, wealth managers and administrators. Prior to joining Bravura Solutions, Parsons was CTO at DST Global Solutions (now part of SS&C), where he was responsible for driving technical innovation across a diverse product portfolio.
“Nick’s exceptional industry experience, deep technology expertise, and proven track record of strategic leadership will play an important role in strengthening Calastone’s senior leadership team,” said Julian Hammerson, CEO of Calastone. “As our network continues to grow, Nick will be instrumental in driving our future technology strategy as we expand the business into new verticals and continue to support our customers through the next phase of automation.”
With digital innovation a priority for Calastone, it has also appointed Adam Belding as Principal Architect, who will be responsible for leading Calastone's digital investments programme, collaborating with clients to enable new “tokenized” digital investment models – the next generation of crowdinvesting.
“Adam will play a critical role as a key architect in leading the funds industry into a new era, which will see token investment vehicles become the standard,” Hammerson said.
Calastone, which has more than 4,000 clients in 55 countries and regions, processes £250 billion in investment value every month. Headquartered in London, with offices in Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Taipei, Singapore, New York, Milan and Sydney.
