We the people are the solution
Anyone with half a brain can see that our nation is in danger. From our two-tiered judicial system, to the erosion of trust in the mainstream media, science, and government agencies like the Department of Justice, the IRS, the FBI, and the CIA, you would have to be damned crazy not to realize that something should be done as it should. As soon as possible to fix our demise.
How do we achieve this lofty goal? basic. We get involved.
After more than fifteen years of working at the highest levels of political power in Indiana and across the country, I have come to realize one simple truth. Our systems, all of them, local, regional and national, are corrupt from the inside out, from top to bottom, and it will take more than just elections to correct this situation if we cannot get it under control in 2024.
How did we reach this turning point? The answer is simple: complacency. We have entrusted elected officials and their bureaucracies to perform their duties on our behalf, but we have remained passive spectators while our rights have been curtailed and our freedoms threatened.
We have remained very silent as one right after another has been limited, restricted or completely eliminated. When government overreach arrived at our citizens' doorstep, we closed our curtains, locked our doors, and remained silent so that “they” wouldn't come after us. While fellow employees were fired for refusing to inject an experimental drug into their bodies to keep their jobs, far too many Americans gave in to the pressure and remained silent.
What price do we pay for this silence? Unhindered government abuses.
For the first time in our history, American citizens are being persecuted for exercising their constitutional rights. Those who dare to oppose what they consider a rigged electoral process are subjected to defamation and marginalization. However, we must recognize the truth: speaking out against injustice is not treason; It's patriotism.
I too have faced repercussions for speaking truth to power.
In the lead-up to the 2020 election, my company, Mosaic, served as the messaging arm of the Indiana Republican Caucus. However, when I dared to criticize Governor Holcomb's unconstitutional actions and the lack of leadership on the part of Speaker Todd Houston on a radio show, I was quickly threatened with the termination of my profitable relationship with the Republican Caucus.
Despite the consequences, I have chosen to stand firm in defense of our constitutional freedoms. And yes. I have terminated my service.
This is not a “woe is me” story. Its purpose is exactly the opposite. My story is meant to be a rallying cry. It's meant to set your soul on fire. My message is not a story of how the system defeated me. I was not beaten. I was encouraged.
The goal of sharing this experience is to help you realize how corrupt and addicted our elected officials, of both parties, are to the power and authority we have lent to them.
This power is not theirs. It belongs to us. Our Founding Fathers knew well the dangers of allowing a few to rule the many. Our Constitution, the first document of its kind in human history, placed all this enormous power and authority in the only place where it could remain safe – in the hands of We the People.
If we truly want to take back our country, it will take much more than posting scathing comments and memes on social media or writing strongly worded letters to our representatives, it will require sacrificing our time and treasure — and this is no different. The sacrifices made by our founding fathers.
For the past few months I have been a volunteer with Charles Buckwalter's Congressional Campaign (IN-4). Charles is a former Green Beret and local business owner who has also experienced serious financial hardship during the pandemic. Like me, Buckwalter reached out to his elected officials and was denied.
During a conversation just a few weeks ago, Buckwalter made a statement that shook me to my core. “We are not governed by the elites in Washington, D.C. or the state capital,” he said. “We are governed by those who live in our backyards. We are governed by those who follow, without question, the orders and dictates of D.C. and our state capitals. If you really want To influence change, you should run for a local county office where you can make an immediate impact.
He was right.
However, it is with great pride that I announce my candidacy for Boone County Council at-large.
As a constitutional conservative, I unequivocally support the sanctity of life, preservation of Second Amendment rights, fiscal responsibility, and unwavering opposition to government overreach. I pledge to support transparency in our government institutions and to tirelessly advocate for the people's voices.
If you share my conviction that our nation's renaissance begins at home, if you are weary of the marginalization of the political elite, and if you are looking for leaders who lead by example, then I humbly ask for your support and your vote on Tuesday. May 7.
