There is a risk of severe weather across South Florida Tuesday night into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

A line of rain and thunderstorms will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico and southern Florida late Tuesday night into Wednesday, producing storms, some of which could become “strong to possibly severe,” forecasters said.

The weather service said the system could bring “damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, hail, and an isolated water plume or tornado.”

There is a high risk of wind and hail starting late Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday afternoon.

The NWS also issued a hurricane risk outlook from 7 a.m. Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday across South Florida. “Expect Wednesday to be busy all day, weather-wise,” meteorologists said.

Tuesday night, wind speeds will reach 18 mph. Wednesday will see an 80% chance of rain in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach County.
