Two people were killed in a training plane and a passenger plane crash in Kenya, Kenyan police said.
The two planes collided over Nairobi National Park in the capital, causing the smaller plane to crash.
The larger plane, the Dash 8, operated by Safarilink Aviation, had 44 people on board, including five crew members.
The airline stated that the plane was heading to the coastal tourist resort of Diani when the crew reported a loud explosion shortly after take-off from Wilson Airport and decided to return.
“I can confirm the student and the coach [on the training aircraft]“He died during the incident,” Nairobi County Police Chief Adamson Bonge told Reuters news agency.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement that the plane belonging to a flight school and the Safarilink passenger plane collided at 10.05 am (7.05 am GMT).
The investigation has begun.
