Complete chaos erupted Saturday evening inside Six Flags Over Georgia with a huge brawl and ended with a 15-year-old boy being shot outside the park by a police officer who was acting in self-defense during a gun battle.

As WTVN reported, a disorderly crowd of about 500-600 people began fighting inside the park in Atlanta. The outlet notes that the police were able to get them outside the park gates.

One of the fights captured on social media shows several young women involved in the commotion.

    He watches:

NEW: Fights break out on opening day of Six Flags in Georgia, ending with police shooting a 15-year-old.

This is why Atlanta can't have nice things.

Police say they were called after they received reports of 500-600 people running and fighting in the park.

Things have taken a turn for the worse outside Six Flags. An unknown group of thugs suddenly began shooting at Cobb County police officers who were trying to restore order.

An officer returned fire, wounding the 15-year-old. According to WTVN, the young man was taken to Grady Hospital and remains in critical condition.

The young man was later identified as Syere Littlefield of College Park, FOX 5 Atlanta reported. Police say he is charged with aggravated assault.

Six Flags Over Georgia issued a statement pledging to ensure safety inside and outside the park going forward:

Our goal is to provide safe and fun entertainment. We use state-of-the-art security systems and metal detectors, maintain a strong and vigilant Public Safety Department, and have strong support from the Cobb County Police station both inside and outside the park.

Every guest is expected to follow our strict Code of Conduct, and anyone who does not wish to follow this Code of Conduct is not welcome.

It is unclear whether other individuals will face charges in addition to Littlefield. The incident is reportedly still under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
